How We Work
The Tutoring Spot is a unique tutoring option to help your child learn, and like it!
We are different than the franchise tutoring centers, offering personal, individualized programs. We don't require big, expensive assessments before starting to work with your student. In fact, we offer a FREE assessment!
At The Tutoring Spot we understand your child is unique. We know that every child learns at a different pace and a different way. We also understand that your goal as a parent is two-fold. First, you want your child's grades to improve and test scores to get better. But even more important, you want your child to learn, and to like doing it!
It isn't just about getting them through school anymore, it is about teaching your kids to love learning, and to figure out how to learn. At The Tutoring Spot that is exactly what we do. Our first meeting will be with both you and your child. Our tutor will meet with you both, get an idea of what your goals are for your child, what your child's goals are, and together figure out the goals of tutoring.
From there you and your child's tutor will design a schedule that will work for all of you. There are no contracts to sign, and no long term committments to make. We believe that tutoring is designed to help your child learn, and while that may take one student 2 months, it may take another 8 months, and for another they may always need some extra help. Whatever the case, it can be decided as things progress.
Your First Session
At this initial meeting your child will also be given a learning styles assessment at no charge. The results of this assessment will be yours to keep, and will help you and your child navigate the roads of school and learning, regardless of whether your child is a good fit for The Tutoring Spot program. At the end of this first meeting, you and your tutor will be able to decide if the tutor and your child will be a good fit. If so, your tutor will work with you to determine the best schedule of tutoring sessions for your child and your family's schedule.
No Matter the Age or Subject
Homeschooling, elementary, pre-school, high school, college...wherever your child is in their education, we can help them. Whatever they are dealing with...ADHD, ADD, ASD, LD...we can help! And if you are just looking to get them some help with math, reading, science, or even foreign languages, we can do that too. We even have study skills and test prep programs!
